A warming drink for a very snowy day

Snow snow snow! We've been well and truly spoilt with the stuff in Sheffield this week! And it's lovely, magical, and so much fun. We've been sledging, building snowmen, having snowball fights... all the snow clichés.

After an hour in the snow we all started to get a bit chilly. But we definitely didn't want to come inside. What can you do?

So I dusted the snow off my coat and boots, went into our lovely warm kitchen, and made one of our favourite drinks. It's warm, milky, pretty-much sugar-free, and it's not hot chocolate! (Don't let that put you off... there are other drinks in the world of perfect winter drinks)

And my littlest and I sat out in our winter wonderland of a garden and warmed our hands and drank together.

Vanilla milk

1 cup of milk (about 300ml)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

1 tablespoon maple syrup

a pinch of nutmeg

1) Put all the ingredients in a pan, heat, and stir.

2) Pour into cups. Done!
